Delivery
Q1 When will I know the date my auto will sail?
When your auto has been booked for shipment we will send you shipping notification through email or fax, indicating the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). It usually takes about four weeks to confirm your autos booking. Please note that there are seasons that are more difficult to book your auto, therefore your understanding and patience will be appreciated. Once you receive the ETA and ETD, you should contact your local clearing agent or shipping agent to confirm the final date of arrival before you collect your auto.
Q2 Which documents should I expect?
We will send the B/L (Bill of Lading), Commercial Invoice, and other necessary documents to your consignee address or clearing agent. Please contact your local clearing agent or shipping agent to find which documents are necessary.
Q3 When will I receive my shipping documents?
We will send you the shipping documents through FEDEX about two weeks after the vessel with your auto leaves Japan.
Q4 Can I track my documents once they have been dispatched?
We usually use FEDEX for sending documents. They provide a tracking number on each package. You can use this number to track the package on the FEDEX tracking system.
Q5 What is the customs clearance process?
Once the auto arrives at the port, it will be your responsibility to perform customs clearance. If you are not in a position to clear the auto personally, you can hire a local agent to perform customs clearance. Please contact your local clearing/forwarding agent for the necessary steps to be followed. For the autos with Durban as the destination port, the use of a clearing agent is compulsory. Unless you have a preferred clearing agent, we will send the documents to our preferred agent.
Q6 Why do you need my physical address?
The physical address is a requirement that has been set out by the shipping companies and courier companies that will be involved in the delivery process.

Certain ports, such as Durban, and regions around the world require the consignee to have a physical address on the bill of lading. This is because many autos are simply transiting through certain ports.

Any discrepancies involved with consignee details can add to delays. So it is best to ensure the correct consignee details are listed.

In addition, when all auto documentation has been received, we will send these important documents to you by international courier. These courier services such as FEDEX also require a physical address in order to deliver the documentation correctly to you.

We do understand many nations do not have a physical address. If there is no physical address where you live, please include your street or building name and provide the nearest village or town name together with the P.O. Box address.
Q7 How long does it take for my auto to be shipped?
Shipping companies have different schedules and the booking time depends on the port of destination and season. It usually takes approximately four weeks to book the shipment for your auto. The sailing time lasts usually from 2 to 5 weeks, depending on the port of destination and season. We cannot guarantee any exact delivery date for the auto before the booking is completed, please contact us in advance if you have particular necessities.

Q7 What is "RO-RO Shipment"?
Shipment by RO-RO (Roll on-Roll off) can offer a cost advantage over container shipments. RO-RO vessels are designed solely to carry autos and do not carry any general cargo or bulk commodities.
